Part-Time Graphic Designers of ID Graphics, Inc.
***Job Description***
You will work as an Independent Contractor. All Company Income is reported to the IRS and filed. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to file their own taxes using form 1099. Pay varies by experience, resume, and portfolios. No need to work in the office. Must know how to design unique, yet artistic and pleasing-to-the-eye flyers, banners, logos, business cards, letterhead, and the like in Adobe Photoshop and must be able to submit designs in .psd formats.
The Graphic Designer produces visual solutions to the communication needs of clients, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness. Designers need imaginative flair, awareness of current fashions in the visual arts, working knowledge of the latest computer packages and an understanding of material costs and time limits, all of which can impact on the design.
Appropriate medium and styles are selected in conjunction with the client's requirements. By providing quality visuals it is hoped the profit margins of the client will increase as potential customers become more informed or persuaded by the graphics.
The main activities of the graphic designer are:
- meeting clients to discuss their needs;
- interpreting the client's business needs;
- developing design briefs by gathering information and data to clarify design issues;
- thinking creatively to produce new ideas;
- using innovation to redefine a design brief and meet the constraints of cost, time and client;
- multi-tasking: graphic designers often work on more than one design brief at a time;
- using a wide range of media, including photography and computer aided design;
- producing accurate and high quality work;
- contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief;
- keeping abreast of developments in IT, particularly design programs.
- working well in a team, with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, account executives, website designers and marketing specialists;
- working to tight deadlines.
Designers often have to be proactive in presenting their ideas and designs to prospective customers. This is true whether you are self-employed, working freelance or employed within a business. |
The Contractor must:
- Not be difficult to contact by phone. (Everything can be handled electronically, by mail, phone or even meetings; however, this cannot take place if the Contractor never answers their phone)
- Complete all projects by the deadline. (A Scope of Work will be submitted with each project. Contractor may work at own pace and hours, and without a boss hovering over your shoulder, but it is your duty to notify the Company of anything needed or any problems that may arise. NOTE: The deadlines given INCLUDE the time necessary for revisions, spell-checks, and changes necessary after revision by the Project Supervisor)
- Adhere to rules, regulations, terms, conditions, contracts and standard procedures of the company. This includes but is not limited to the basic concepts and designs incorporated into the formats for our designs.
Please note: All relations are contractual. An application packet must be completed with all forms (including a W-9 for tax purposes only & DMV & GCIC Reoprts if necessary) and review an Independent Contractor's Contract before actual hire.
